WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY CONTRACT TEMPLATE FAQ
What is a wedding videography contract?
A wedding videography contract is a written agreement between a videographer and a client for wedding filming services. It explains what services will be provided, when and where the videographer will work, how much the client will pay, what deliverables will be provided, and what happens if plans change. A clear contract helps both sides understand the scope of work before the wedding day.
Why do you need a wedding videography contract?
You need a wedding videography contract to clearly document the services, timing, fees, cancellation terms, and expectations for the event. It helps prevent misunderstandings about coverage hours, edited videos, delivery timelines, travel, and creative decisions. A written contract also creates a clear reference point if questions come up before or after the wedding.
When should you use a wedding videography contract?
Use a wedding videography contract before the videographer begins any work or reserves the wedding date. It is useful for full-day coverage, ceremony-only filming, elopements, multi-day wedding events, and add-on services such as teaser films or drone footage. It is especially important when a deposit is required and the parties want clear rules for rescheduling, cancellation, and final delivery.
How to write a wedding videography contract?
Start by identifying the videographer and the client, then describe the wedding event details and the videography services being purchased. Add the coverage schedule, payment terms, cancellation and rescheduling rules, editing and delivery details, and any travel or meal requirements. You should also include limits on liability, creative discretion, use of footage for promotion if permitted, and signature lines for both parties.
